Haksabanovic - how did he do last night?
A question to those who made the effort to go. Unlike myself.

Would like to see him given a run of games , especially with Lanzini out .

What I like most with the kids coming through is their urge to go forward, and ability to pass/move.

How about something about him being a Montenegrin genius with a 24in penis?
Or maybe an observation that although he DIDNT come from Real Madrid he isn't keen on Tottenham?

Promise and sustaining it are different things - I think hoping two of them make it is realistic, more seems like wishful thinking

Very promising having the following:

Burke
Cullen
Martinez
Quina
Rice
Holland
Haksabnovic
Oxford

All look capable of at least being decent squad players in the future.

thought Holland looked lively too, a proper old fashoined touchline hugging winger

Almost scored when he went through too

Sounds encouraging... been a false dawns with young players down the years. I can remember Ron Greenwood describing Johnny Ayris as a "wonder boy" and look where he ended up, playing against no marks like me in the Essex leagues :-)

Ade Coker was another, Stuart Slater. At least, Freddy Sears has recovered to become a decent Championship player.

He was very good at taking care of the ball, didn't give it away.

Was it him who nutmegged a player towards the end of the first half... I was upper tier last night so difficult to make out who's who!

He did make a great run and would have been through on goal had he received a simple pass from the man on the ball, who instead chose the wrong pass.

Oxford has (by all accounts) been let down by his attitude. Luckily he has time to sort this issue out.

Rice would appear to have an excellent attitude... as Bilic says, an old man's head on a teenage body!

Having given him that praise I would like to see him play on Saturday ahead of either Kouyate and Noble.

Slav's quote:

“Declan can play in both positions. He is naturally a centre-back, but he has enough skill and stamina in his legs to play as a holding midfielder, and the brains to play both. Where he is going to play in his career, I really don’t know. If I had to choose I would say centre-back, but I don’t see anything he doesn’t have not to be a top holding midfielder, as he can pass the ball and has good stamina, so both!"

Where have I heard that before...........oh yes, Reece Oxford.

Soldo

That was the 70s when those taches were excepted; Not sure what Merv Hughes's excuse was. Unless he was batting for the other side.

Slav From the O/S

The boys done good

West Ham fans love seeing young players given their chance in the first team and, on Tuesday night, they were able to enjoy watching four teenagers do their thing in Claret and Blue.

Declan Rice and Sead Haksabanovic started and both impressed their manager, with the Montengro international making his senior debut, while Domingos Quina and Nathan Holland also caught the eye as second-half substitutes.

“Declan Rice is only young on paper, but he has a brain and concentration as if he was 30 years old,” said the manager. “He’s thinking about the game, he’s thinking about his positioning and everything. He is totally in the game, which is putting him in a position that he has everything to become a really, really good player.

“Declan can play in both positions. He is naturally a centre-back, but he has enough skill and stamina in his legs to play as a holding midfielder, and the brains to play both. Where he is going to play in his career, I really don’t know. If I had to choose I would say centre-back, but I don’t see anything he doesn’t have not to be a top holding midfielder, as he can pass the ball and has good stamina, so both!

“Haksabanovic was good. He didn’t surprise me, but it is really difficult for a young player to play his first game, but he looked very mature. The lads around him helped him to get into the game and he did very good, so I’m very pleased with him, as I am with Dom Quina and Nathan Holland.

“Those four players have a bright future if they play like that."

Yeah, he looked decent. Obviously the level of opposition wasn't that high but he didn't struggle physically, and used the ball well.

Promising.
